Beekalene

Our Company

• Our Story

Three generations
at the loom.

Beekalene Fabrics Private Limited was founded in 1970 by the Late Shri Omprakash Sehgal, in partnership with seven associates. A textile man with a craftsman's eye and a builder's instinct, our founder believed the company would carry farthest under a single family's stewardship — and over the next twenty-eight years he patiently bought out each of his partners, completing the transition to 100% family ownership in 1998.

From that single mill in Mumbai, his vision has grown into one of the most established textile houses in Western India: a fifty-six-year-old company whose looms, embroidery heads, knitting machines and printing tables now serve customers across the world.

• A Family Enterprise

Owned by one family.
Built around its values.

Today, Beekalene is led by Rajan Sehgal as Chairman, with Karan Sehgal and Kabir Sehgal as Directors — the second and third generation of a family that has spent its life in textiles. Family ownership shapes the way we work: long horizons, careful investment, deep relationships with the partners we have served for decades, and a measure of pride in every metre that leaves our factories.

• Our Manufacturing

Four factories.
One company. One team.

Across four factories spread between Navi Mumbai, Tarapur and Bhiwandi, Beekalene produces approximately 600,000 metres of fabric every month — woven, knitted, embroidered, printed and finished under one company, by one team.

Each facility is purpose-built around the discipline it serves, from jacquard and dobby looms to multi-head embroidery, knitting, digital printing and finishing, giving us the depth and flexibility to develop, sample and ship at scale. The company is certified to ISO 9001 — an assurance to our customers of consistent quality, traceability and process discipline.

• Our Fabrics

The full breadth
of decorative textile.

Our range spans the breadth of decorative and apparel textiles: woven dobbies and jacquards, multi-head embroidery, knitted constructions, and digital prints. Yarns and blends move from pure cotton, linen and polyester to sophisticated cotton-linen-viscose compositions — chosen and engineered to suit the application, whether that is a heavyweight contract upholstery, a fine apparel shirting, or a fluid drapery.

Every collection is built around a clear design idea and a clear performance brief.

• Our Design Studio

Designed in India,
tuned to the world.

Design is the engine of the company. Our in-house studio in Mumbai is staffed by a diverse team of Indian designers and supported by consulting design studios in Europe and the United States — a combination that gives every Beekalene collection both an Indian sensibility and a global outlook.

We release three original collections each year, in step with international seasons, alongside a continuous flow of customised development for our partners. We present at the world's defining textile fairs — including Proposte at Lake Como and Heimtextil in Frankfurt — where our customers come to source the season ahead. Trend, technique and material come together in a single studio that travels, researches and creates without rest.

• Our World

From Mumbai,
to forty countries.

From this base, our fabrics travel to more than forty countries. India remains our largest and most important market — we are believers in the Indian consumption story — followed closely by the United States, the Middle East, and a growing book of business across Pan-Asia and South-East Asia. The partners we supply range from large furniture and apparel manufacturers to specialised converters, fabric wholesalers and lifestyle brands.

• Our Responsibility

Sustainability,
the way a family thinks.

Sustainability is not a department at Beekalene; it is the way a family company thinks about its future. Our products carry OEKO-TEX certification — an independent assurance that the textiles we ship are free from harmful substances.

Alongside this, we invest in responsibly sourced yarns and certified blends, in production methods that conserve water and energy, and in honest, clean finishing. Manufacturing has a footprint — ours is one we take seriously, audit honestly, and work to lower year on year.

• The Beekalene Promise

Made by family.
Made to last.

Fifty-six years on, the proposition is simple: design conceived in-house, fabric made in-house, partners served with the care of a family that has known many of them for generations.
